Imagine photographing sunrise at the Great Pyramid, sunset on the Nile and more. This tour is based on the travels of David Roberts, who’s drawings of Egypt done in the 1840’s gave the Western World the first glimpse of Egypt’s temples and history.

Your lens will have the opportunity to capture 5000 years of history plus modern life along the Nile and in the Sinai.

The Program:

Day 01: (Sunday) Arrive Cairo, staff will assist with clearing immigration and customs then transfer you to the Le Meridien Pyramids hotel. Overnight Cairo

VISAS: All travelers to Egypt must have a visa. Citizens of most countries can obtain one on arrival. Please let us know what passport you are traveling with and we will confirm whether you can get your’s on arrival.

Day 02: (Monday) International buffet breakfast at the hotel, then a full day tour of the Pyramids at Giza, the Sphinx and the early pyramids at Sakkara and Dahshur. O/N Cairo (B)

Day 03: (Tuesday) International buffet breakfast at the hotel then visit the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities and marvel at King Tut's treasures. In the afternoon, visit the Khan el Khalili Bazaar where travelers have been finding bargains since the Middle Ages. Overnight Cairo (B)

Day 04: (Wednesday) Staff transfers you to the airport, assists with checking in and you fly to Aswan. Arriving staff transfers you to the Basma Hotel. Located on the highest elevation in the area it offers commanding views of the city, desert and Nile. O/N Aswan (B)

Day 05: (Thursday) Breakfast at the hotel, then visit to the High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk and the Temple of Philae. Overnight Aswan (B)
Optional tour to Abu Simbel $250 per person

Day 06: (Friday) Cross the Nile by Felucca to Kitchener’s Garden Island. With plants always in bloom and abundant wildlife this is a photographer’s treat. Then Board your deluxe Nile cruiser, the Queen of Hansa, where you will enjoy an upper decks, outside Nile view cabin with opening panoramic windows. Lunch while sailing to Kom Ombo. Visit the Temple of Kom Ombo and sail to Edfu. Dinner & evening entertainment. Overnight Edfu (B,L,D)

Day 07: (Saturday) Breakfast on board then visit the Temple of Edfu and sail to Esna. Pass the lock and sail to Luxor. Dinner & evening entertainment. Overnight Luxor (B,L,D)

Day 08: (Sunday) Breakfast on board then cross the Nile to visit the West Bank (the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El Bahari and the Colossi of Memnon). Lunch on board. In the afternoon visit the Karnak and Luxor Temples on the East Bank. Dinner & evening entertainment. Overnight Luxor (B,L,D)

Day 09: (Monday) Disembark after breakfast. Staff transfers you to the Sonesta St. George Hotel in Luxor. Free time to enjoy Luxor or optional tour to Dendara and Abydos. O/N Luxor (B on cruise)
Optional Hot Air balloon. $150 per person.
Optional full day tour to Dendara and Abydos. $120 per person.
Optional Sound and Light show at Karnak temple. $30 per person.

Day 10: (Tuesday) Buffet breakfast, check out, then staff transfers you to the Luxor Airport and you fly to Cairo. Arriving Cairo continue to Alexandria by air-conditioned vehicle. Enjoy the hospitality of the Marriott Renaissance, right on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea. O/N Alexandria (B)

Day 11: (Wednesday) Tour Alexandria, including a visit to the Alexandria National Museum, a world class presentation of Alexandria's history from its founding through the Middle Ages and visit the Greco Roman sites. Return to Cairo in the evening and transfer to the Fairmont Heliopolis. O/N Cairo (B)

Day 12: (Thursday) Staff transfers you to the Cairo airport, assists with checking in and you fly to Sharm el Sheikh. You have now left Africa and arrived is Asia!! Staff will transfer you to the Sheraton Beach Resort. Free day to enjoy Sharm. In the evening enjoy a trip to the desert, meet the Bedouin, enjoy a traditional bar-b-que and star gaze. Overnight Sharm (B)

Day 13: (Friday) Breakfast, check out and depart for Wadi Feiran. Steeped in biblical mystery, it was here, according to locals, scholars, and legend, that Moses struck a rock with his staff, bringing forth a spring so his people could drink. Feiran is also the site of Rafadim, the fabled oasis where the Hebrews camped and battled the Amelecites. It is said that a journey through Feiran is to pass through an entire chapter of the Old Testament (Exodus 17). Continue to the foot of Mt. Sinai to overnight at St. Catherine's Plaza. Overnight Sinai (B,L,D)

Day 14: (Saturday) Take it easy, go to bed early for if you intend to climb Mt. Sinai to see the sunrise. The climb is about 2.5 hours and only for those in good physical condition. The altitude at the crest will be about 8,000 feet and it can be very cold during the winter months. If you climb the mountain you will return to the base hotel for breakfast then check out and visit St. Catherine’s monastery. If you do not intend to climb the mountain you will have breakfast at the hotel, check out and visit St. Catherine's Monastery with it’s famous Chapel of the Burning Bush. Departing St. Catherine’s drive East toward the Gulf of Aqaba. Stop to visit the Rock of Inscriptions, where travelers have left directions and messages for 8,000 years. See Ein Kudra Oasis, traditionally hazarot for the Children of Israel, enjoy lunch at Habiba, a wonderful open air waterfront restaurant right on the Gulf of Aqaba, then return to Sharm for an evening flight to Cairo. Arriving staff transfers you to the Fairmont Heliopolis hotel. Overnight Cairo (B,L)

Day 15: (Sunday) Staff transfers you to the airport, assists with exit formalities and checking in for your international departure.

TOURS INCLUDE: OPERATES WITH NO MINIMUM AND A MAXIMUM OF 16 TRAVELERS. Domestic flights in Egypt in coach (economy) class. All transfers by air-conditioned vehicle relating to the tour program starting with arrival to Cairo. Baggage handling of no more than 2 pieces of luggage per person however baggage and personal effects are at the owner's risk at all time during the tour. Hotels (based on double occupancy). 5 star Deluxe Nile cruise with upper decks, outside Nile view cabin, private bath, individual climate control (based on double occupancy). Meals as outlined by B for breakfast, L for lunch and D for dinner. Fees for visiting antiquity sites and museums. Services of an English speaking licensed Egyptologist. Service charges and taxes.

NOT included are: Items of a personal nature such as entry visa (available at the airport on entry for USA citizens. Other nationalities should check with the nearest Egyptian consulate), camera fees, tips, phone calls, laundry, drinks with meals, any items not specifically covered in the included items.

Single Price is for Single occupancy hotel rooms and cruise cabins based on a minimum of two travelers. Single travelers (one person on the tour) would have additional cost.

FREQUENT TRAVELERS: You are welcome to arrange your own international air or we can assist. Also if you are a member of any hotel chain frequent traveler program you are welcome to use your points for hotel rooms and the cost of the tour will be reduced accordingly OR if you want to accumulate points plus take advantage of membership hotel room upgrades let us know which program you want to use.
